Jutta's Contract

Agreed in Anno Domini 1349 between Knyaz Brencis, styling himself sole and rightful ruler of Vale Sangora, and Jutta of clan Gedr, an uriash, before witnesses.

Jutta must track down and kill Coen of Laslea, son of Pieter — accused of murdering over twelve guards and wrecking a merchant caravan — and may take no other work until it is done.

On presenting the severed head as proof, Brencis vows clan Gedr exemption from all feudal obligations plus gold bullion equal to Jutta's own weight, invoking God to strike dead whichever party breaks the pact.
