Meditations on the Superiority of Vrakhiri Over Men
Issued at Knyaz Brencis's command, the essay dismisses as fallacy the notion that silver repels evil: alchemists proved ages ago that silver ranks below gold in worth, purity, and every other measure.
Why, then, should vrakhiri loathe silver yet not gold? Being exalted above mankind, they recoil from all but the choicest things. So too they spurn daylight — hours of toil and striving — in favour of night's dreams and delights.
The conclusion: transmute all silver into gold, enriching Vale Sangora's treasury while replacing the lesser metal with the finest — surely to everyone's benefit.
