Mevasser's Notes

First their temple fell and his folk were trampled underfoot — time and again — driven to roam the earth, forever hunting a refuge and never securing one. 'Fine,' they answered. 'We'll cope.'

Ages on, new hosts received them for their doctors, traders, and lenders — hospitality that soured quickly. Presently they stood accused at every outcry: tainted wells, stolen babes, pestilence. Ever them — and where another's hand showed, why, they had COMPELLED it.

'Fine,' came the answer once more. 'We'll move on.' Eventually no elsewhere remained, no haven — just digging in and hoping no fresh disaster, true or invented, would send them to the pyre.

Such are they today, in Vale Sangora and beyond: 'Fine,' is the word. 'We'll endure, whatever comes.'
