Something hidden in the mists atop Sangora's peaks, treasure or danger, called to people in their dreams with a low growl like a slumbering beast.
Several men resolved to do more than traverse the perilous pass: they would scale the summit and learn what the mist hid.
The growl swelled to a roar echoing through the valley, then fell into a brief ominous silence before an avalanche larger than any before buried everything in death.
Ten battered bodies were recovered from the pass, and the mountain sank back into the soft growling that haunted the night, waiting for the next soul.
