The Guilds's Charter of 1336

Dated 19 August 1336, the charter requires every trader or artisan producing, selling or exporting goods in Svartrau to belong to a guild of their field, following common European practice.

The knyaz appoints masters, who open workshops, recruit limited numbers of apprentices; six years' training earns journeyman rank, and three more years plus an approved masterwork earns a master's title, with the first new master becoming grandmaster.

The rules aim to guarantee the quality of Svartrau's goods; unlicensed trade is forbidden and punished.
