Wound Care Manual

Credited to the hand of Aldo the Barber, the manual gives blunt battlefield medicine.

Wounds are to be washed with hot wine or vinegar — or, failing that,

the fresh urine of a sober man — and never allowed to close until all filth is out.

They should be bound tight with linen or a shirt hem;

for unstoppable bleeding it prescribes cobwebs or moss,

or failing those, pressing down with a boot until the bleeding stops or the man faints.

Iron wounds get a slice of raw onion or a poultice of boiled goose fat and ground sage.

Flesh gone black calls for the Lord's Prayer and burning with hot steel to drive out the demons within,

while spilt guts should be rinsed in wine before a priest is summoned for the Last Rites.

Where to get it

Drop odds are estimated from game data on a fresh roll; pity bonuses and duplicate protection adjust them during play, so treat these figures as approximate.
