Great Wall terrain-and-route strategy
Great Wall uses a fixed geographic land shape with randomized player positions and resources. The long terrain boundaries can lengthen travel and funnel armies through a small number of practical routes.

Overview

Plan and execution
Scout the closest pass between bases and identify alternate routes before placing forward production. Secure the passage with vision and a mobile army, then use the long map shape to raid a side resource while the opponent defends the main route.
Risks and adaptation
The geographic barrier does not guarantee a sealed choke. Check for paths around the wall before committing siege or builders to a single entrance.
