Greek Fire extends the reach of Byzantine Fire Ships, helping them engage enemy fleets and pressure coastal targets from farther away. Use it to strengthen a fleet that already has numbers and support.
Plan and execution
Build a Fire Ship group and research Greek Fire when sea control or shoreline attacks are important. Use the added reach to start engagements against Galleons and threaten Docks or other coastal structures, while keeping a second line ready to screen transports and protect Fishing Ships. In later ages, coordinate the fleet with Dromons or coastal defenses to pressure several shoreline targets.
Risks and adaptation
Fire Ships remain short-range compared with other vessels and can be overwhelmed without backup. Keep the fleet moving, avoid charging into a larger formation, and do not leave transports or fishing income undefended while pursuing a coastal target.
