Overview

Royal Heirs improves the durability of Ethiopian Camels and Shotel Warriors against the attack types they most often face. Use the upgrade to support their speed and anti-cavalry role, while recognizing the late-game gaps in the camel line.

Plan and execution

Research Royal Heirs when Camels or Shotel Warriors are an active answer to cavalry pressure. Send Camels to meet mounted units and use their mobility to protect ranged troops; deploy Shotel Warriors to chase vulnerable Cavalry Archers or exploit a flank. In trash-heavy late games, combine upgraded Shotels with a ranged core and use their speed to punish openings rather than absorbing fire.

Risks and adaptation

The upgrade does not supply missing hit points or armor upgrades for Heavy Camels, so foot archers remain dangerous. Do not use the technology as a reason to take a stationary fight; mobility and target choice are essential.
