Overview
Improves the Spearman line’s performance against cavalry.
Effect and affected units
Pikeman upgrade changes upgrades Spearman to Pikeman. The affected target is Pikeman; the bonus does not automatically apply to the rest of the roster. This is the main reason to research it; compare the affected units with the army you expect to field.
Research cost and timing
Research is available in Castle Age at the Barracks. The recorded cost is 300 Food, 600 Gold, and the research time is 50 seconds. Consider whether the upgrade will affect enough units or workers to repay that investment before the match is decided.
