Resumen

The Definitive Edition reworks Alarico’s story across five missions, from service in a Roman civil war to establishing a Visigothic homeland in Gaul. (Alarico, Ataulfo)

Scenario details

The Definitive Edition version expands and reshapes the older campaign into five escenarios. Its objetivos include fighting for the Eastern Roman side at Frigidus, campaigning through Greece, negotiating and fighting around Ravenna, breaching Rome’s defensive Castles, and leading Ataulfo across the Rhône. The victory conditions differ from the preserved HD Edition escenarios. (Alarico, Ataulfo, The Battle of the Frigidus, Godos, Reliquias, Razing Hellas, suministros, recursos, The Belly of the Beast, Italia, The Giant Falls, Ataulfo, A Kingdom of Our Own, Alarico, Ataulfo, Godos)

Campaign mission sequence

The Battle of the Frigidus: hold the allied center in a three-front battle, help defeat the Western Roman army, then secure the Reliquias and capture Arbogast’s base. Razing Hellas: guide a fixed force through four Greek cities; each captured city provides reinforcements and recursos before the final Roman blockade. The Belly of the Beast: build an economía in northern Italia, capture Aquileia and Cremona, and approach Ravenna when the emperor is ready; Sarus’s betrayal triggers the final battle. The Giant Falls: coordinate with Visigoth and Ataulfo forces to breach Rome; destroy its twelve defensive Castles, while the Wonders are not required. A Kingdom of Our Own: lead Ataulfo across the Rhône, establish and defend a foothold in Gaul, then complete the three marked Castles to claim the cities. (Alarico, Ataulfo, Godos, Reliquias, suministros, recursos, Italia, Ataulfo, Alarico, Ataulfo, Godos)

  • 1. The Battle of the Frigidus — Fight as the Godos on the Eastern Roman side of a large three-front battle. Hold the allied center while helping defeat the Western Roman force, then secure the Reliquias and take Arbogast’s base to complete the victory.
  • 2. Razing Hellas — Lead a fixed Gothic force through four Greek cities without villagers or a conventional starting economía. Each captured city suministros new troops and recursos; finish by breaking the Roman army blocking the route north.
  • 3. The Belly of the Beast — Build up in northern Italia, take the fortified cities of Aquileia and Cremona, then approach Ravenna only after the emperor is ready to receive an envoy. Sarus’s betrayal turns the negotiations into a final fight.
  • 4. The Giant Falls — Establish a base outside Rome and coordinate with the Visigoth and Ataulfo forces to breach the city. The victory condition is the fall of the twelve defensive Castles; the city’s Wonders are not required.
  • 5. A Kingdom of Our Own — After Alarico’s death, guide Ataulfo’s Godos across the Rhône and secure a homeland in Gaul. Establish a foothold, defend against rival armies, and complete the three marked Castles to claim the cities.
