Scenario details
The story follows Kotyan and his people as Mongol pressure drives them away from the estepa. Early missions emphasize movement, recruitment, and avoiding an unfavorable battle; later ones turn the migración into a struggle over alliances and survival in Hungary and around the Danube. The finale branches between Bulgaria and Hungary, with different local objetivos and allies in each destination. Campaign mission sequence
Raising the Banners: sweep the estepa for Cuman camps before Mongol patrols reach them, then recruit Rus support and ataque the bastión only after your force has grown. The Battle at the Kalka River: fall back toward Cuman settlements and prevent the Tártaros from surrounding them; delay on defensible ground instead of challenging the Mongoles too early. Saving the Huts: rally Girgen’s tribe, protect the temporary asentamiento, free captured camps, and lead Kotyan to Hungary. Blood for Blood: after the Hungarian alliance collapses, use Carreta de bueyess to resupply on both sides of the Danube, strike the nobles, and fortaleza an escape route open before Austria closes in. A New Home: in Bulgaria, retake Nesebar and Defender la Maravilla; in Hungary, support Rey Béla against rebellious nobles and Duke Frederick while securing villages and refugee suministros. - 1. Raising the Banners — Kotyan starts with a small mounted party and must race across the estepa to recruit the scattered Cuman camps. Gather the tribes before Mongol patrols reach them, then win support from the Rus principalities and strike the Mongol bastión.
- 2. The Battle at the Kalka River — After a defeat by the Mongoles, Kotyan’s people retreat toward the Kalka River as the pursuing horde closes in. Reach the Cuman settlements and stop the Tatar force from encircling them; the Mongoles are too strong for a direct early battle.
- 3. Saving the Huts — Kotyan leads the remaining free Cumanos through Moldavia while Subotai’s Mongol force bears down on them. Rally Girgen’s tribe, defend a temporary asentamiento, and free the captured camps before leading Kotyan to safety in Hungary.
- 4. Blood for Blood — The Cumanos first help Hungary resist Tatar raids, but the alliance collapses after Kotyan is murdered. Move between the northern and southern sides of the Danube, gather suministros from Carreta de bueyess, strike the Hungarian nobles, and escape before Austria can cerrar the route.
- 5. A New Home — Kotyan’s successors must choose where the Cuman people will settle. In Bulgaria, help retake Nesebar and Defender la Maravilla; in Hungary, support Rey Bela against rebellious nobles and Duke Frederick while securing villages and refugee suministros.
