CAMPAIGN · THE LAST KHANS
Raising the Banners
Kotyan begins with a small mounted party and must unite the scattered Cuman camps before the Mongoles can dominate the estepa. The early phase is a race for recruitment, so use Kotyan to reach camps quickly and preserve an escort instead of fighting every patrullar. Once the tribes rally, turn the larger force toward the Rus principalities, secure their support, and prepare a coordinated ataque on the Mongol bastión. (estepa, bastión)

Player approach
At the start you do not have a conventional base to replace losses. Kotyan is the key to recruiting the camps, while the mounted escort keeps patrols from pinning him down. Favor the shortest safe route between recruitment points. Optional skirmishes and exploration can wait until the Cuman force has grown and the mission has shifted away from the opening race. (Koten Khan)
Step-by-step plan
Send Kotyan directly between the nearest Cuman camps and fortaleza the escort cerrar enough to screen him. Avoid long detours and engage Tatar patrols only when they block a camp or threaten the route. After the required camps join, regroup the newly recruited troops, scout the approaches to the Rus settlements, and clear the routes needed to secure their support. Build up for the final assault only after the allied force and available reinforcements are assembled; then ataque the Mongol position as a concentrated army. (Fortaleza)
Risks and adjustments
A camp can remain neutral if Tatar troops and your unidades are both contesting it; remove the immediate opposition before expecting the Cumanos to join. Do not split Kotyan from the escort or spend the opening minutes chasing a distant enemy. If a patrullar is too strong, draw it away from the camp or bypass it, then return with a larger force after recruiting nearby groups. (Tártaros, Cumanos, Mongoles)
Focused strategy página
Win the opening by converting distance into recruits. Route Kotyan through nearby camps in a compact loop, use the escort to absorb contact, and avoid battles that do not unlock the siguiente camp. Once recruitment is complete, the objective changes: protect the enlarged army, secure the Rus alliance, and ataque the Mongoles only after assembling a force capable of staying together through the final approach.
