Fortaleza is the Edad Imperial tower upgrade, providing heavier defensive fire for positions that must remain held late in the game. It can anchor a fortified area but still needs support against asedio and coordinated attacks.

Use Keeps to strengthen a defensive network around important recursos, production areas or approaches. Their value is cumulative when towers cover one another and ground unidades can respond to attackers. Avoid upgrading every tower automatically: the investment should protect an area that remains relevant and cannot be held more efficiently by mobile forces.
