Resumen
The frontier districts are stepping stones toward the main Byzantine position. Securing them expands recursos and recruits, while arquero a caballos can exploit their mobility against slower, heavier troops. Avoid fighting the fortified army before the frontier is organized; make the opponent respond to harassment while your own force grows. (Manzikert, edificios, Camello, asedio push)
Plan and execution
Scout the frontier and identify districts that can be secured with limited losses. Complete the local conditions that bring them into your side, then connect their recursos and unidades to the main force. Use arquero a caballos to pressure isolated Byzantine groups, retreating before the heavier army can pin them down. Once the frontier allies are established, gather a larger combined force and ataque the fortified center with asedio support. (Caballería ligera, Camello, Camello)
Risks and adaptation
Arquero a caballos lose their advantage if trapped against the fortified army, while isolated frontier allies can be overrun. Fortaleza escape routes open and leave enough troops to protect the newly secured districts. If a local objective is too costly, shift to another frontier area and return with a larger coalition instead of repeatedly attacking the same position. (Turcos, Piquero upgrade, Camello, ataque)
