Black Forest - Arena
Black Forest - Arena is a Knights of the Mediterranean map with a large open, resource-rich square at the center. Forests ring the perimeter, and each starting base opens toward the central field rather than being separated by the tight tree corridors of the Black Forest variant. Stone walls protect the starting areas and provide room to build safely behind them.

Map character
Scout the approaches through the walls and the resource field as soon as the army can move out. Identify central settlements and the resources your opponent can reach first; the generated settlement and outlaw positions vary. The outer tree line is not a substitute for a narrow defensive choke, because the central clearing leaves several direct approach lanes.
What to scout
The protected starting area can support an economic build-up, but delaying map control too long lets the opponent occupy the central resources and restrict your expansion. Establish a defended presence outside the walls before the economy becomes dependent on the center, and retain units that can answer a push through the open field.
Open center, enclosed starting positions
Black Forest - Arena keeps the perimeter forest but opens a broad central square for resources and movement. Stone walls protect each starting area, giving players space to build behind a barrier, yet the center lacks the same narrow tree corridors that shape other Black Forest layouts. Once troops leave the protected base, they can be approached across several lanes. Scout the wall openings and central routes instead of assuming the outer forest will funnel every attack through one choke.
Do not leave the center uncontested
The walls can make a safe economic opening tempting, but the open center contains resources and settlements that may become important as the match develops. If the opponent occupies it first, your later expansion may be forced through an exposed approach. Move out with a force able to hold a compact position and preserve a route back to the base. Settlement and outlaw placement can vary, so check the generated map and decide whether the central objective is worth contesting before committing workers to it.
