Corselet
Corselet is a Commerce Age Church technology for the Spanish and, in Act I: Blood, the Knights of St. John campaign faction. Its documented access path requires the Royal Decree to Claim the New World Home City Card.

Effect & research conditions
Research takes 15 seconds. It increases Heavy Infantry hit points by 25% and reduces their speed by 15%. Examples include Musketeers, Rodeleros and Pikemen where available. Corselet improves staying power rather than pursuit.
Research condition
Available to Spanish and Knights of St. John (Act I: Blood) from the Commerce Age. Research it at Church.
When to research
Choose it when Heavy Infantry will hold a position or advance with support and durability matters more than movement. The speed penalty makes chasing, retreating and rotating harder; retain faster units for pursuit. Knights of St. John access is campaign-specific.
Durability at a movement cost
Corselet changes two parts of the infantry profile. More hit points let affected troops absorb extra damage, while lower speed reduces their ability to choose an engagement. It suits a force expected to protect artillery or advance in formation. If the army needs to chase raiders or withdraw quickly, the movement penalty can outweigh the health gain. Keep the line together and let faster units handle enemies that disengage.
Civilization and campaign availability
The Spanish can research Corselet at the Church after sending Royal Decree to Claim the New World. The Knights of St. John have access in Act I: Blood, where the scenario defines faction and card availability. Keep that context separate from the regular Spanish technology tree. Corselet affects Heavy Infantry, not every infantry class; do not apply it to Skirmishers or Cavalry.
