Map character

Scout the rugged coast, small islands and possible landing sites before sending ships or splitting the army. The Kattegat and Skagerrak setting makes coastal movement part of the land contest. Identify whether an island gives useful vision or a safe approach, and keep a land force ready to defend workers and settlement access.

What to scout

Invest in ships when they can protect a crossing or deny an enemy landing; a fleet without a supported landing plan may not affect the land battle. Use island positions to scout or pressure an exposed coast, but avoid leaving the force stranded. Treat this as a hybrid layout and adapt to its generated shoreline.

Rugged coast and scattered islands

Danish Straits is based on the Kattegat and Skagerrak, which connect the Baltic and North Seas. Teams contest a rugged coastal region with several small islands. Shoreline access makes water routes and landing sites part of the land battle, while island positions can offer ways to scout or threaten an exposed coast.

Balance route and island control

Hanover, Oldenburg and Vasa settlements are available; Crabat and Inquisitor are outlaws. Scout islands before committing to ships or a transport. A fleet can protect a crossing, while an unsupported landing can be isolated. Keep land forces ready to defend workers and settlement access. The map is a Knights of the Mediterranean hybrid layout; its loading-screen art was updated in The Baltic Powers.
