Effect & research conditions

Research costs 150 Food and 250 Wood and takes 30 seconds. Snaphane and Mounted Friskytte gain +2.0× bonus damage against guardians and +0.5× against Villagers. Their siege attack damage rises by 50%, with +2.0× bonus damage against resource enclosures. Snaphane additionally gains the ability to collect Treasures and gather crates. These effects are specific to the named Danish units, not a general siege or Villager bonus for the whole army.

Research condition

Available to Danes from the Commerce Age. Research it at Watch House.

When to research

Research when Snaphane or Mounted Friskytte form a meaningful part of the army and the map offers Treasure, crates or exposed resource enclosures. The 30-second timing is important before a planned raid or siege. If the force uses other units, or there are no accessible guardians or objectives, prioritize a technology that affects the units already in production.

Two units gain the combat modifiers

Both Snaphane and Mounted Friskytte receive the listed guardian and Villager bonus damage and the 50% increase to siege damage. The additional +2.0× bonus against resource enclosures is part of their siege profile. The result is a stronger raiding option against map objectives and exposed economic targets, but their normal counters still matter during the approach.

Snaphane also interacts with map rewards

Disruption lets Snaphane collect Treasures and gather from crates. This utility makes the unit useful while scouting between fights, but collecting still requires reaching the reward safely. Watch for Treasure guardians and nearby enemy troops; the technology improves the named unit’s access without guaranteeing that every objective is uncontested.
