Treaty
Treaty is a multiplayer mode in which players agree not to attack during a set opening period. The quiet interval lets each side develop its economy, advance through Ages, claim map resources and prepare an army before combat is allowed. The lobby’s treaty length and other settings determine how much development fits into the opening.

How it works
The timer and mode rules define when players may begin hostile action. During the treaty, ordinary economic and production decisions still matter, and map control can shape where the first battle occurs. Some settings and maps may affect which actions are available, so follow the active lobby rules rather than assuming every match is identical.
Player decision
Use the timer to develop a coherent economy and production plan, not merely to accumulate upgrades. Secure useful resources and positions while preparing defenses for the moment combat begins. As the end approaches, position units and rally points so the army can respond immediately without leaving workers or valuable structures exposed.
Planning around the end of the ceasefire
Treaty length is selected for the match, so the opening plan should fit the lobby’s actual timer. Use the protected development period to reach the intended Age, establish resource gathering, build enough production capacity and prepare an army that can be supported after combat begins. A long Treaty favors an economy that can sustain late-game units and upgrades; a short Treaty gives less time to recover from over-investing in technology. Before the timer expires, move the army toward useful positions, set production rally points and keep vulnerable Villagers away from likely opening raids. Treaty does not make the match safe after the countdown: the first attack can arrive before a player has time to react, so complete essential defenses and leave resources for replacements rather than spending everything on upgrades.
