Overview

Protective mountains and plentiful resources allow time for fortification and army preparation.

Terrain and layout

A closed, defensive map places starts in separate sections behind protective mountains and forest. A central mountain ridge separates the sides, while narrow passages connect the resource pockets.

Resources and control

Starting areas are unusually rich, with Large Gold and Stone, food, and Sheep. Additional resources lie in the enclosed sections and along the perimeter. There are no Sacred Sites or Trade Posts, so neither Sacred Site Victory nor trade routes shape the match.

Player considerations

Use the protected start to build safely, then scout mountain passages before expanding or committing to a siege. Since no Sacred Sites create a deadline, resource control and breaking through the defensive terrain determine when to force a decisive fight.
