Map overview
Anubis offers routes toward A and B that connect through central spaces and the map’s canal-side areas. The layout gives attackers choices about where to apply pressure, but movement through a route can expose players to defenders holding an angle. Counter-Terrorists need to balance immediate site defense with the possibility of a rotation or split attack.
Use callouts to distinguish a sighting from a fully cleared area. Players may refer to Mid, Connector, Canal, A Main, B Main and the bombsites when reporting positions. Call the direction an opponent moved and whether the player still has vision; that detail helps teammates decide whether to hold or rotate.
A & B bombsites
A can be approached through its main routes and connecting areas. Attackers need to clear defenders from the site and nearby positions before planting the C4 Explosive. The plant position then affects which routes the Terrorists can watch and where Counter-Terrorists can approach for a retake.
B has its own entries and defensive angles. Attackers can pressure it directly or use connected routes to complicate the defense. Counter-Terrorists should share information before leaving a site; the defenders may otherwise rotate into an attack or abandon a bombsite that remains threatened.
Routes & utility
The connecting routes make timing important. A team can split pressure, but players arriving at different times may be isolated and eliminated before support arrives. Keep enough spacing to trade an entry while avoiding a group that can be stopped by one grenade or angle.
Smoke can block a defender’s view across a crossing, and a Flashbang can help an entry player challenge a held position. Fire utility can delay an opponent or force a defender to move. After a plant, teammates should assign roles for watching the bomb and denying a defuse rather than leaving every angle unattended.
CS2 applicability & map pool
This article covers Anubis as a CS2 Bomb Defusal environment. Its matchmaking availability can change through updates; consult Map Rotations for dated pool history rather than assuming every queue includes the map.
Grenade, C4, collision and lighting fixes (August 21, 2024)
The August 21, 2024 Anubis update adjusted grenade clipping, fixed a C4 stuck spot, corrected prop collision that could hide the C4, and fixed some lighting issues. These changes address utility placement, dropped-object recovery, objective visibility and rendering in separate ways. The note does not identify exact locations or claim that the C4 became visible through walls; it names collision that could conceal the device in affected map geometry.
The adjustments do not change Anubis’s Bomb Defusal rules or grenade behavior at the game-system level. The patch records map-specific interaction fixes only.
Counter-Strike 2 Bombsites and routes
Anubis is a Bomb Defusal map with two sites linked by Mid and multiple approach paths. At A, Terrorists can enter from A Main or from Mid; a corridor leads to a walkway above the site and the Heaven position. Counter-Terrorists can defend from Heaven, the site itself or A Connector, while more aggressive positions include Plat and the area near A Main.
B is organized around an obelisk. Terrorists can approach through B Main or B Connector, also called Secret. Counter-Terrorists have two principal retake paths that approach from a similar direction, and can also retake through the Terrorist entrances by rotating via their spawn or Mid. The 2023 Limited Test moved Anubis out of the Casual and Deathmatch selections named in the August 15 update; this does not change its Bomb Defusal layout. See Bomb Defusal and Map Rotations.
Limited Test availability and map fixes
On August 2, 2023, Anubis was added to Deathmatch, Casual and Competitive in the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test. On August 3, the update improved movement clipping across the map, adjusted collision around pillars, closed holes in world geometry and fixed weapon and bomb clipping through the map. These corrections address traversal and object collision rather than a new route.
Anubis was removed from Competitive on August 7, 2023, with further unspecified bug fixes and tweaks. This sequence is a dated Limited Test record; the map’s Bombsites A and B and their routes are described in the overview above. See Map Rotations for later pool changes.
Clipping adjustments (September 14, 2023)
The September 14, 2023 Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test update listed various clipping adjustments for Anubis. It did not identify particular surfaces, routes, collision boundaries or player actions, so no specific jump, boost or grenade route can be inferred from this note. The change is a dated map-maintenance record, not evidence that Anubis changed objective layout or became available in a different mode. Compare it with later Anubis map notes before treating any route guidance as current.
