Map identity and Wingman role
The map’s internal name is de_poseidon, its listed creator is hAgi, and its setting is Greece. Poseidon is designed for Wingman, the two-player-per-side bomb-defusal mode. With fewer teammates available than in standard five-versus-five play, each player’s information and route coverage affect whether the team can defend a site, support an entry or rotate after learning where the opponents are.
Poseidon’s community-created origin and its official mode availability are separate facts. The map was added to Wingman on January 21, 2026. Pool membership can change in later updates, so the addition date should not be read as an unchanging guarantee of queue availability. See Wingman for the mode and Map Rotations for dated pool history.
August 19, 2026 map changes
The August 19, 2026 CS2 update records three Poseidon-specific changes: a new bomb model was implemented, visibility near Apollo Cafe was improved, and clipping between Hell and Heaven was improved. These notes describe an objective-model change and map readability/collision fixes; they do not document a new route, bombsite or round rule.
The named areas Apollo Cafe, Hell and Heaven should be interpreted as map-update references. The update does not provide a full callout list or route diagram in its patch text, so this entry does not infer additional site connections or tactical lanes from those names.
Bomb-defusal objective
As a Wingman bomb-defusal map, Poseidon uses the standard objective relationship: the Terrorists try to plant the C4 Explosive at the available site, and the Counter-Terrorists defend access or attempt a defuse after the plant. The two-versus-two roster makes each elimination and rotation particularly significant because fewer teammates can cover alternate approaches.
Smoke and flash utility can affect sightlines and entry timing, while communication helps both players coordinate. Exact callouts and detailed geometry should be taken from the map layout; the setting and map name alone do not establish a route or a mandatory strategy.
Community Workshop version refresh (April 28, 2026)
The April 28, 2026 CS2 update refreshed Poseidon to the latest Community Workshop version. Its patch note does not identify which geometry, visual or gameplay files changed, so the entry records a version update only. It does not establish a new bombsite, altered Wingman rules or a change to the map’s previously documented features.
