Magazine, spread and damage

The P90 holds 50 rounds and has 100 reserve rounds. Its 857-round-per-minute fire rate supports sustained automatic pressure, while 25 base damage and 69% armor penetration mean that several hits are normally needed against an armored opponent. The CS2 hitbox table lists 103 head damage without armor and 71 with armor; the chest and arms take 25 or 17, the abdomen and pelvis 32 or 22, and the legs 19. The capacity is useful for taking more than one close engagement, but misses still consume a large ammunition reserve.

The weapon is identified as having low recoil and usable moving accuracy for an SMG, though a long spray becomes less accurate. Its 3.3-second reload is long enough to punish a player who empties the magazine in an exposed position. Check the remaining rounds before committing to a second target, and move behind cover before reloading.

Close-range team tactics

The Wiki’s tactical guidance focuses on getting close enough to use the P90’s rate of fire. A Flashbang can disorient opponents before a coordinated push; a Smoke Grenade can help the team cross an exposed sightline. At close distance, a moving spray aimed around the upper reticle can produce repeated head-level hits. Against a group, the 50-round magazine permits sustained pressure, but remain mobile: firing continuously from one position gives opponents time to group, trade or pre-aim the location.

Do not spray through a teammate who is in front. The P90’s spread can create friendly-fire risk even when crouched; move to another angle or use short bursts instead. The weapon is most effective when a low-capacity sidearm or rifle cannot keep up with a fast close push. Its $2,350 purchase is the most expensive SMG in the listed roster, so compare its capacity and movement role with the lower-cost PP-Bizon, MP9 and UMP-45 before spending the team’s utility budget.
