Weapon identity and handling
MAC-10 is short for Military Armament Corporation Model 10; the real M-10 is a compact, blowback-operated machine pistol designed by Gordon B. Ingram. The in-game version uses .45 ACP ammunition and is restricted to the Terrorist team. In CS2 its $1,050 price, automatic fire and 30-round magazine make it an economical close-range option. The reserve holds 90 rounds.
The source describes the MAC-10 as light and fast to carry, with high damage falloff, poor accuracy, strong recoil that moves mostly horizontally, and weak armor penetration. Moving inaccuracy is comparatively low, but movement does not make distant shots dependable. Keep the engagement close, control the horizontal drift and avoid treating a long spray as a substitute for a rifle. The available cached damage fields are explicitly labeled for Global Offensive or earlier editions, so this page does not present those hitbox values as current CS2 statistics.
Ambushes and economy use
The Wiki recommends the MAC-10 for close-quarters ambushes and flanks rather than frontline exposure. Tight spaces limit how far a target can strafe while the player’s high movement speed helps close distance. At close range, prioritize the head and use automatic fire; at medium range, fire deliberate taps instead of holding the trigger. Long-range combat is a poor fit, and if the player must take it, single shots give the first shot time to settle.
The MAC-10 can be purchased for a low-cost Terrorist round when the team wants to preserve funds for armor or grenades. Its damage dropoff and weak armor performance make it less attractive against well-equipped opponents later in a round. The Wiki’s higher SMG kill-reward figure is labeled for Global Offensive and is not repeated here as a CS2 reward value. Compare the Counter-Terrorist MP9 and both-team MP7 for their separate team roles.
The March 18, 2026 CS2 reload change discards rounds remaining in a magazine when a full replacement is loaded. The MAC-10’s reserve is shown as magazine ammunition; check the 30-round fill level before replacing it. A 2.6-second reload appears in the Global Offensive field, not an explicitly CS2-labeled field, so this entry does not state it as a verified CS2 reload time.
