Model & identity

The Shadow Daggers is one of the knife models in the CS2 inventory. A paired set of short melee blades rather than a single conventional knife. The dual-blade presentation gives this variant a different held model and inspection style. It occupies the knife slot and does not replace the player’s primary firearm. The player sees the selected model when holding and inspecting the knife; other players can also see its equipped appearance in match situations where the model is visible.

The knife type and the weapon finish are separate parts of the item. A knife model determines the blade and handle form, while an eligible finish determines the surface pattern or color. A finish does not convert the knife into a different model, and a visually rare finish does not improve its performance.

Role in a match

The Shadow Daggers occupies the melee weapon slot and provides the standard knife actions available in CS2. Players may switch to it when they need a melee option or when moving without a firearm is appropriate under the game’s movement rules. It has no unique tactical ability tied to this cosmetic model. The player must still consider nearby opponents and choose whether to keep a firearm ready.

Knife attacks are close-range actions and expose the user if an opponent has a gun ready. The equipped model does not replace positioning, movement or a team’s objective. The Stock Knife explains the default equipment; this entry describes the selected visual variant.

Finishes & inventory

Compatible finishes can change the Shadow Daggers’s visible blade or handle surfaces. The exact finish pool depends on item and container releases, so availability should be documented with the relevant CS2 Weapon Cases, Collections or update entry rather than assumed from the knife’s name.

The knife can be inspected and equipped through the CS2 inventory and loadout interface. An inspect animation presents the model but does not change its match statistics. A weapon finish or knife model is part of item customization and does not affect the AK-47, M4A4 or other firearms in the player’s inventory.

CS2 applicability

This entry covers the Shadow Daggers model in Counter-Strike 2. Its current cosmetic availability depends on the item pool and updates; no market price or case drop is treated as permanent. The visual profile described here identifies the model and separates it from the shared melee role.

Paired push-dagger form

Shadow Daggers use a matched pair of push daggers, one in each hand. Their official description frames the design as a punch-like motion, and the Wiki compares the model to the Gerber Tactical Uppercut Push Dagger. The paired arrangement is the central visual difference from one-handed knife models such as the Bayonet or Karambit. It does not grant two independent weapon slots or double the combat output.

In Counter-Strike 2, Shadow Daggers are a cosmetic knife model sharing the standard Stock Knife performance. Their paired appearance does not change the slash and stab rules, range, damage or movement speed. Players choose them for the dual-hand animation and unusual silhouette; in a round they still occupy the melee slot and perform the same close-range role as other knives.

Inspect presentation and finish families

The paired view model makes the Shadow Daggers immediately recognizable in first person and in inventory previews. The Wiki’s gallery documents original finishes from the Shadow Case, Chroma finishes associated with Spectrum and Spectrum 2, and Gamma finishes associated with Operation Riptide. This records the history of finish availability and does not promise that any named case currently has the item in its pool.

Shadow Daggers were introduced in the September 17, 2015 Shadow Boxing update and are classified as a Rare Special item. Equip them in the CS2 inventory loadout. Compatible Weapon Skins apply different finishes to the pair; Wear and Pattern Index describe appearance variation without affecting knife combat. Compare the two-hand presentation with the Butterfly Knife inspect animation and the single-blade Stiletto Knife.

Third-person deploy animation (April 2, 2026)

The animgraph_2_beta patch fixed misbehavior in the Shadow Daggers third-person deploy animation. This concerns how the draw/deploy action is represented to observers; it does not say that the first-person view, attack sequence or knife properties changed.

Deploy and quick-inspect animations (August 14, 2025)

On August 14, 2025, Counter-Strike 2 improved deploy and quick-inspect animations for all knives. The patch describes a shared animation update across the knife category; it does not identify a unique pose, timing value or motion change for this individual model. The change concerns how a knife is drawn and quickly inspected in first person, rather than its attack damage, reach, movement speed or cosmetic finish. The same update separately modified the Sawed-Off and several named firearms, whose animation changes are documented on their own pages.
