Overview
After the death of his son, Francisco refuses to surrender command and seeks revenge in India. Win Portuguese soldiers to his side without needless bloodshed, bring Albuquerque over, destroy Diu’s Wonder, then survive the counterattack with a conquest or Wonder victory.
Player approach
A Son’s Blood sets a narrow objective: convert ten units from Afonso’s Armada, but killing more than fifteen causes defeat. Use the temporary neutral diplomacy to build stone defenses and prepare Monks before provoking the force.
Step-by-step plan
Move the gold workers to nearby stone until you can place the required Walls and Gates, then return them to gold. Scout the Armada tents while the units remain neutral, and create a protected path for the Monks. Convert isolated soldiers one at a time and count both conversions and kills; stop fighting once the target number joins you.
Risks and adjustments
The kill limit is strict and the enemy is initially neutral. Do not let Villagers or military units attack tents, and avoid area damage that could kill several Armada units unintentionally.
