CAMPAIGN · THE CONQUERORS
King of Valencia
A changing-front defense: gather local troops and villagers, decide when to abandon Denia, then hold Valencia through the Wonder countdown.

Overview
A changing-front defense: gather local troops and villagers, decide when to abandon Denia, then hold Valencia through the Wonder countdown.
Player approach
King of Valencia opens with El Cid alone and turns Denia into the first settlement. Secure its workers and defenses before confronting the main force so the enemy cannot arrive during a vulnerable siege.
Step-by-step plan
Take control of Denia, assign its Villagers to food, train a Missionary, and research cavalry armor. Meet Berenguer’s first attack near the town and defeat it before moving toward Valencia; otherwise the survivors may join the later siege. Keep El Cid hidden near the shallows if needed while the supporting army crosses the southern bridge, then regroup and advance on the main objective with the Missionary and cavalry upgrades ready.
Risks and adjustments
Leaving Denia immediately can let the first enemy army reach Valencia at the same time as the main attack. Protect the new Villagers and avoid using El Cid as the only frontline unit; preserve the hero while the army handles the engagement.
