Overview
Land at Osaka and secure a foothold before taking on the fortified capital. Nobunaga’s rescue attempt gives way to retaliation; prevent Kyoto from winning through its own Relics while preparing for a prolonged siege.
Player approach
Kyoto in the Definitive Edition moves from a scripted loss into a transport escort and a three-district assault on Osaka. Protect the landing fleet, then capture the city in stages while the enemy raids.
Step-by-step plan
Use the two Fire Ships to clear nearby Galleys and keep the three allied transports moving toward Osaka’s southern shore. Land the first troops as the transports arrive and allow the allied Petards to breach the walls, then move the army into the southern district. Secure one district at a time and use the captured area to stage units toward the next, keeping the ranged troops behind the Samurai and Knights.
Risks and adjustments
The opening Samurai defense is intended to fail, so do not sacrifice attention trying to preserve it. A lost transport weakens the landing, and Osaka’s districts are defended separately; avoid scattering the small first wave across the entire city.
