Overview

Secure Khmer power through political maneuver and military expansion.

Scenario details

Secure Khmer power through political maneuver and military expansion. Mission order and scenario notes: 1. Usurpation — Suryavarman I advances on Angkor to claim the Khmer throne. Weaken the rival king’s forward camps, clear the approaches through the countryside, and break into the fortified capital to defeat him 2. Quelling the Rebellion — Rebellions threaten Angkor from the north, east, and south just as Suryavarman consolidates his rule. Secure the river and its crossings, seize rebel towns by taking their key defenses, then defeat Jayaviravarman’s southern army 3. A Dangerous Mission — A diplomatic convoy must cross hostile territory to deliver a ceremonial chariot to the Andaman port. Choose two military escorts, seek help from local settlements, and guide both the Envoy and the cart to safety 4. Challenging a Thalassocracy — Khmer and Chola forces launch a coordinated campaign against Tambralinga and the sea power of Srivijaya. Protect the Chola foothold while building naval strength and opening land and sea routes into both rival empires 5. Nirvanapada — Suryavarman faces a regional struggle amid monsoon conditions that limit heavy siege ships. Establish a secure economy, then either defeat three rival kingdoms or protect a Wonder until its countdown ends Use the named objectives, starting setup, and mission order in this entry to distinguish it from the standard skirmish rules.
