Overview

Player approach
The Hook and Cod Wars starts with an early English naval threat. Improve the Galleons quickly, then destroy the three Lumberyards to end the attacks and turn the English into an ally.
Step-by-step plan
Research the Galleon upgrade immediately, then add Bracer and Chemistry as resources allow. Repel the first English wave and sail for the northern Lumberyard first, before the two Guard Towers become stronger Keeps. Continue to the other Lumberyards with the fleet grouped and damaged ships pulled back for repair. Once the English stop attacking, use the breathing room to secure the rest of the objectives and rebuild the economy.
Risks and adjustments
The northern route becomes much more dangerous over time as towers and English upgrades improve. Avoid delaying the fleet strike, and do not split ships against the English navy before their production sites are removed.
