Player approach
Unholy Marriage gives time to boom before the main attacks. Nearby Relics can turn Cambrésis into an ally, while a second Town Center and prepared defenses help withstand the rival claims.
Step-by-step plan
Scout the gold northeast of the starting Town Center and consider placing a second Town Center there. Locate Cambrésis and deliver two Relics from the nearby northern and southeastern sites to gain its support; keep the Relic near the gold for your own Monastery. Tribute the requested amount to Namur before its diplomacy turns hostile. Add a Castle or wall near the northeast approach, then build the army needed to fight Jacqueline and Humphrey with allied support.
Risks and adjustments
The northern Relic is contested and may cost more than it returns early. Do not delay Namur’s tribute until after its warning, and secure the second base before the attacks arrive.
