A New Duke of Milan begins with a small base under frequent attacks. The objective is to defeat Milan’s supporters and control the countryside before confronting the city and a later surprise faction.
Plan and execution
Use the first Villagers and nearby resources to build a Castle north of the starting position and stabilize the base. Defend against Abbiategrasso, then expand the army toward the countryside settlements that support Milan. Capture or destroy those positions to weaken the city before moving on Milan itself. Keep production active and reserve siege for the later city assault, after the supporter network is under control.
Risks and adaptation
Milan is not the first target; attacking it directly while surrounded creates several fronts. Expect a new faction to enter after the countryside phase, so keep a reserve and repair the southern defenses before advancing.
