An Unlikely Messiah asks Joan’s force to reach Chinon and link up with the Sieurs. Keep the slower escort safe while using the river route to approach the gate on favorable terms.
Plan and execution
Move the Sieurs toward the Castle and gate while sending Joan north along the river, avoiding unnecessary fights on the road. Use the Sieurs to trigger the gate approach; the responding cavalry can open the way. Bring the escort through only after the route is clear, then use the available transports to regroup the force and continue toward the objective together.
Risks and adaptation
Joan is valuable and should not lead the first contact. Keep the Sieurs alive long enough to activate the gate response, and avoid loading only part of the force into transports before the rendezvous.
