Centurion durable-frontline timing

Centurion: Centurions offer a very durable Castle-produced cavalry line, but their high cost, long training time, and Castle requirement make them difficult to mass. Their protection and attack can make a small group valuable when the economy is secure.

Overview

Centurion: Centurions offer a very durable Castle-produced cavalry line, but their high cost, long training time, and Castle requirement make them difficult to mass. Their protection and attack can make a small group valuable when the economy is secure.

Plan and execution

Choose a protected Castle site and build Centurions only when the economy can maintain their expensive production. Use them to anchor a push or screen ranged units, then add enough support to cover anti-cavalry threats. Avoid relying on one Centurion to hold an entire front.

Risks and adaptation

Their slow replacement rate makes losses difficult to recover from. Do not commit them to repeated small engagements or invest before the opponent’s counters and your production capacity are understood.
