Champi Runner scouting raid

Champi Runner: Champi Runners trade durability for speed and vision, giving them a raiding and scouting role distinct from a slower Militia-line fight. They can approach ranged targets more safely than ordinary infantry but should not stay in a prolonged melee.

Overview

Champi Runner: Champi Runners trade durability for speed and vision, giving them a raiding and scouting role distinct from a slower Militia-line fight. They can approach ranged targets more safely than ordinary infantry but should not stay in a prolonged melee.

Plan and execution

Use the initial Champi Runner to scout walls and vulnerable resource sites, then add a group for short raids when the opponent’s army is elsewhere. Pull away from melee units and use the extra mobility to change targets before defenders arrive.

Risks and adaptation

Their low hit points and weaker melee exchanges make a direct infantry brawl inefficient. Do not trickle Runners into a defended base or keep them near a slower army that cannot support their retreat.
