Overview

A raid route should reach vulnerable workers while preserving an exit and avoiding the defender’s strongest positions.

Plan and execution

Scout walls and defensive fire before committing. Prefer an outer woodline or isolated resource with more than one retreat path; use vision to check whether defenders are moving toward the raiders.

Risks and adaptation

The shortest route may cross a Town Center or a Spearman screen. Turn away when the entry closes and use the raid to draw defenders only if the rest of the army can exploit that movement.

Decision example

Scout the target and the road back before committing cavalry or Eagles. A resource with exposed workers is useful only if the army can reach it without crossing a Town Center, Castle, or known counter force. Send a small group first to reveal walls and Spearmen, then redirect if the defender is prepared. A successful raid may be a short worker interruption rather than a kill; preserve mobile units for another pass or for vision over an expansion.
