GUIDE · CIVILIZATION SYSTEM
Civilization bonuses
Each civilization has a package of economic, military, or research advantages that shapes its likely strengths.

Overview
Each civilization has a package of economic, military, or research advantages that shapes its likely strengths.
Reading a bonus correctly
Bonuses can change starting resources, work rates, unit costs, combat values, research timing, or building access. Read each effect with its exact target and Age; a cavalry bonus may not apply to every mounted unit, and an economy bonus may matter only while the affected workers are active. The civilization page lists the whole package beside unique units and technologies.
Turning effects into a plan
Choose an opening that uses an early benefit without neglecting basic food, housing, and defense. Later bonuses should guide a transition when the required buildings and economy are ready. Scout the enemy before investing in the signature unit: a strong bonus does not erase the opponent’s counters or the gaps in the civilization’s technology tree.
