Overview

Family Affairs on Hard difficulty rewards an early Castle. Use nearby food sources efficiently, add stone gatherers before the map is pressured, and send a protected army toward the southeast.

Plan and execution

Queue Villagers and improve the opening food flow with Berries, nearby Boars, and Shore Fish. Once roughly a dozen workers support food, move the next group to stone and establish a Lumber Camp as the Berry supply declines. Add Farms to sustain the economy, then place a Castle when the stone reserve is ready. Train Spearmen and move the initial army southeast to defend the exposed approach and contest the nearby base.

Risks and adaptation

If stone is delayed until after the first attack, the defensive timing becomes harder. Avoid overusing Farms before the necessary food sources are exhausted, and keep the southeast group within support distance.
