Overview

Choose ships for the threats they need to meet: Galleys for sustained ranged fights, Fire Ships for close engagements, and Demolition Ships to damage tightly packed fleets. Protect specialist ships and add units that answer the enemy’s choices.

Choose roles for the opponent

Galleys support ranged fleet fights, Fire Ships excel at close contact, and Demolition Ships can punish clustered ships. Add Dromons when long-range pressure against shore targets matters.

Keep the fleet adaptable

Scout the enemy’s ship mix before committing to one line. Screen fragile specialist ships, reinforce the role that is winning the exchange, and retain enough ships to guard Fishing Ships or transports.
