Hauberk improves Sicilian cavalry durability, reinforcing the civilization’s resistance to bonus damage. It is a late cavalry upgrade that pays off when Cavaliers are already the main force and can reach the fight.
Plan and execution
Complete the Blacksmith armor upgrades and establish a Cavalier mass before spending on Hauberk. Use the improved units to engage other cavalry or absorb ranged fire while a second group pressures a flank. Coordinate with Sicilian infantry or siege so the cavalry can remain active instead of being forced to chase counters across the map.
Risks and adaptation
Hauberk is expensive and should usually follow more broadly useful armor improvements. Extra durability does not make Cavaliers invulnerable or erase every unfavorable matchup; avoid sending them unsupported into massed spear units.
