Overview

Holy Roman Emperor begins in Castle Age against six opponents but has a compact territory with only four access points. Wall those river approaches early, then use Monks and siege to secure Relics from enemy Monasteries.

Plan and execution

Use Villagers to close the four crossings and add Towers where they cover the wall line. The starting Castle Age army can raid one nearby city before the enemies finish aging up, buying space for a safer economy. For each Relic objective, push with a force that protects Monks and siege, destroy the defending units, and remove enough opposition to collect the Relic before moving to the next city. Avoid building Docks across the bridged rivers; use the land routes and defensive lines instead.

Risks and adaptation

Six enemies can attack through any gap left open, so finish the early walls before sending the full army away. Do not let Monks approach a Monastery without siege and unit protection, and avoid spending resources on Fishing Ships that cannot use the bridged channels effectively.
