Scorpion formation support plan
Scorpion: Scorpions are most effective when several bolts can pass through a slow or tightly grouped army. They can punish foot archers or infantry while staying behind a protected line, especially when the opponent cannot easily reach them.

Plan and execution
Position Scorpions in a straight firing lane behind Pikemen or another screen. Wait for enemy units to commit into a choke or approach, then focus the group on targets that cannot scatter quickly. Keep the formation compact enough to protect the siege while leaving room for retreat.
Risks and adaptation
Fast cavalry and units that can dodge or close quickly reduce Scorpion value; high pierce armor also limits some volleys. Protect the slow line and avoid adding Scorpions when the battlefield is too open to control.
