Opening decision and first timing
The larger herdable food supply can delay some Farm investment and support a Feudal timing, but scout the next food source before it runs out. Take fights from higher ground when possible; the bonus rewards positioning, not simply owning elevated terrain. Free Thumb Ring and Parthian Tactics are strongest when the mounted ranged line is being produced.
Composition, counters, and transition
Use Cavalry Archers and Keshiks to choose where engagements happen, then add a front line or siege when the opponent closes routes. New Castle Age Town Centers provide Sheep, which helps an expansion begin producing immediately. Do not invest in several Town Centers and a full mounted army at once without checking food, gold, and map safety.
Opening priorities
Use the extra food from herdable animals to accelerate early production and delay some Farm spending.
Core army
Cavalry Archers and mobile cavalry make it possible to maintain ranged pressure while repositioning.
Technology & transition
Take advantage of elevation and the strong mounted roster to keep control of engagements into later Ages.
Watch for
Infantry upgrades are limited; prepare a different answer if the opponent counters mounted units.
