Tusk Swords strengthens Khmer Battle Elephants, improving an already fast unit line. Research it when you are committed to elephant production and can support the approach with enough units and protection.
Plan and execution
After securing the Castle and core Blacksmith upgrades, research Tusk Swords when Battle Elephants form the army’s main pressure. Use the extra offensive power to break a frontline or raid exposed Villagers, and pair the elephants with ranged support against Spears and Monks. On open maps, leverage their speed to choose engagements and threaten separate resource areas.
Risks and adaptation
The upgrade is wasted if only a few elephants are fielded, and defensive upgrades can be more important when the opponent already has counters. Do not charge elephants into prepared Pikemen or leave them without support against conversion.
