Vain Ambition begins with a dangerous escape from Hereford. Choose one route deliberately, preserve the heroes, and reunite the survivors before riding toward Worcester.
Plan and execution
For the transport route, move south, remove the two Crossbowmen, then use the Transport Ship to cross west while avoiding the marked Demolition Ship. Alternatively, clear the guards at the Fortified Tower by drawing them out one at a time, then use the tower crossing to get beyond the wall. Once the group reaches the inn, regroup the surviving force and use Pikemen to handle cavalry patrols on the road to Worcester.
Risks and adaptation
The Demolition Ship can erase a careless transport crossing. The tower route is slower and depends on controlling the nearby guards; do not split the heroes from the units needed to reach the inn.
