Overview

Use warships to protect fishing areas, cover Transport Ships, and contest the crossings that connect separated shores. A navy that controls access can restrict enemy expansion even before it can attack inland bases.

Control the useful water

Use Galleys or other available warships to contest the crossings that protect Fishing Ships and Transport Ships. Prioritize the lake, channel, or route that supports your next expansion instead of chasing every enemy vessel.

When control is contested

Keep vision on the route and add ships in response to the opposing fleet. If naval control is not affordable, protect one fishing area and prepare land defense or an escorted landing rather than losing ships in repeated small fights.
