Overview

Welcome Home in the Definitive Edition asks you to destroy six towers in a neutral city while two enemy bases raid you. Use the east and west starting groups to establish two productive footholds and avoid wasting time defeating optional opponents.

Plan and execution

Build a Town Center near the western berries and another near the eastern stone, then produce Villagers to strengthen both sides. Use the western gold and eastern stone to support the army and Castles that protect the exposed approaches. Keep the two starting armies together with local reinforcements until the route to the neutral city is clear, then focus on the six Watch Towers. Save the hidden Arab mercenaries until the main army approaches its population cap so their recruitment expands the assault force at the decisive moment.

Risks and adaptation

The two red bases do not need to be eliminated and can draw the army away from the actual objective. Do not recruit the hidden mercenaries too early if population space is needed for the main army, and protect both economies from raids while the force moves toward the city.
