Overview

Wood supports Houses, Farms, production, and upgrades, while distant forests can expose gatherers.

Plan and execution

Place a Lumber Camp near productive, safer forest. Reserve wood for Houses, Farms, and the next military building; use a Mining Camp when gold or stone access becomes important. Scout alternate woodlines before the current forest is exhausted.

Risks and adaptation

Too many lumberjacks can starve food or gold. Protect exposed camps and rebalance workers when the plan changes. Move the Lumber Camp before long walks become a permanent tax, and keep another forest in view when the current line is exposed. Reserve wood for Houses and needed production before optional structures.
