Player approach

This is an escort and route-selection mission before it becomes a asedio. Preserve Alarico while moving east, gather nearby Gaia soldiers, and use the forest route north to avoid Sarus’ larger main-road force. At the puerto, combine with Athaulf, load the army into the transports, and fortaleza a marina screen with the Galera de guerras and Barco incendiarios. Aim for a southern landing away from Ravenna’s fortified shoreline. (Alarico, puerto, fortaleza)

Step-by-step plan

Move the starting force east while picking up nearby allies, then turn north through the forest instead of engaging the stronger group on the road. Reach the civilian puerto and link up with Athaulf before boarding. Fortaleza Galera de guerras and Barco incendiarios between the transports and hostile ships throughout the crossing. Tierra south of Ravenna, regroup on shore, and establish a safe approach before committing to the city’s defenses. (puerto, Fortaleza)

Risks and adjustments

The main-road force is substantially larger than the first group you encounter, so do not mistake an early skirmish for a safe opening. A transport fleet without warship cover is vulnerable, and landing beside Ravenna exposes the army to its fortified coast. If ships take damage, fortaleza the transports behind the escort and clear threats before continuing; preserving the army is more valuable than rushing the landing. (ataque)
